The Latest Conceptual Tech Masks To Combat Covid-19
With the pandemic on the rise, and the increased affinity towards safety measures, tech giants and innovators have given birth to a newer niche of facemasks.
Ever since the Covid-19 outbreak took off, various aspects of "normal" life have changed all over the world, leading to a whole a new way of living. Lockdowns, sanitization and physical distancing brought along with them a prolonged and compulsive use of facemasks. What used to be an obsolete accessory has now become an absolute necessity. As the use and demand increases, various brands and companies are coming up with more tech-savvy, almost futuristic range of masks, equipped with some highly interesting features.
Spec-Computer "illumi-ON 'Mouth Cover'" :
Japanese company Spec-Computer has come up with an exclusive gamer’s accessory, called illumi-ON “mouth cover”. Made with LED lights woven in the mask structure, the mask isn’t medical graded, but rather a mouth cover that can be used with other covers underneath. Equipped with a disposable PM 2.5 filter, the cover comes with a USB charging socket, and a button to control the light strobe. The mask is available on the company’s website, Amazon and Flipkart.
SEEUS95 "See Through Facemask" :
Joining the line of innovative masks is SEEUS95’s see through facemask. Debuting as the first of its kind, the mask comes with a self-adhesive mechanism made out of non-BPA Silicone. The mask also consists of a skin therapy adhesion layer that creates an air-seal, ensuring maximum security. The see-through aspect of the mask enables communication through expressions emoted by the wearer. The mask can be pre-booked on Kickstarter.
Donut Robotics "C-Mask" :
A tech startup from Japan, Donut Robotics has devised a multipurpose facemask, which also acts as a translator while providing protection from the virus. Named as C-Mask, the mask records the speaker’s voice, and later transcribes it in the form of text, which can be sent via Bluetooth in 9 languages! Priced at $40 (Rs. 2,940 approx.), the masks are scheduled to release in the first quarter of 2021.
LG "PuriCare" :
Pioneers in the electronic sector, LG has come up with “PuriCare” wearable air purifier mask, in order to combat the pandemic. The mask comes with fans that help the wearer breathe. It also comes equipped with replaceable filters and disinfecting UV-LED lights. An 820mAh battery, providing 8 hours of uninterrupted use in low power mode, powers the mechanism. With no tentative date, the mask is speculated to come to the market soon.
