On September 15th, Apple introduced its Eight-Generation iPad to join the all-new iPad Air, the powerful iPad Pro, and iPad Mini to form the most advanced iPad lineup ever.
The tech upgrade comes packed with a stunning 10.2-inch Retina Display, uber advanced cameras, and an all-day battery life. The all-new 8th gen iPad features an A12 Bionic chip that provides Apple’s Neutral Engine to be fitted into the iPad for the very first time, delivering a huge leap in performance with 40% faster CPU performance and twice the graphics capability.
The all-new iPad Air, available in 5 stunning finishes, features an all-screen design, 10.9 inch Liquid Retina display, upgraded camera, immersive audio and an integrated Touch ID sensor in the top button. The iPad Air is also fitted with the most advanced A14 Bionic chip that includes a new 16-core Neural Engine that is twice as fast as the previous one.
This combination of the new Neural Engine, CPU machine learning accelerators, and high-performance GPU enables powerful on-device and on-screen experiences for image recognition, natural language learning, analysing motion, and more. Directed mainly towards giving the customers a demonstrated, powerful and innovative experience, Apple has made its latest iPad release the answer to learn, work, explore and connect at home or on-the-go.
The newly released iPads are consciously designed to be the most advanced and environment friendly upgrade yet to back-up Apple’s plan to become carbon neutral by 2030. The iPad integrates 100% recycled aluminium enclosure with a 100% recycled tin for the solder on its main logic board.
The modern design continues to be extremely energy efficient, free of harmful components and uses responsibly managed wood fibre for its packaging. The brand new iPad is available at authorised Apple Reseller starting at a price of Rs. 29,900 for the wifi model and Rs. 41,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular, LTE supported model.
In the latest release, Apple also debuted its Apple Watch Series 6 and an all-new Apple Watch SE. In the announcement of its smart watch products, the Series 6 model sports a repurposed design sensibility of Series 4, but with updated sensors that monitor blood oxygen and track its user’s native sleep pattern. The Apple Watch SE was born as the successor of the Series 3 model and a lower-cost entry for the product line packing all of the essential design features.
The designs render several Apple Watch hallmarks, including a compass, fall detection, swim-proof chassis, face sharing, and more. With the S5 System in Package (SiP) and dual-core processor, the design offers incredibly fast performance, two times faster than Series 3. Another major update Apple introduced this week is the iOS 14. iOS 14 reimagines the iPhone experience, delivering major design updates to the Home Screen with a beautifully redesigned Smart Stack of widgets. At the end of the Home Screen pages is the App Library, a new space that automatically organises all of a user’s apps into one simple, easy-to-navigate view, and intelligently surfaces apps that are helpful in the moment.
Finally after several years, incoming FaceTime and phone calls and Siri interactions take on an all-new compact 'banner' design that enables users to continue working on what they are doing while still conversing. With Picture-in-Picture support, iPhone users can now also watch a video or take a FaceTime call while using another app. Other ground-breaking features includes Translate, Siri and keyboard dictation, Home app, Car Keys, Apple One, and Accessibility.
Last but not least, Apple announced its ‘Apple One’ subscription plan, that bundles all the amazing apple services into one easy subscription service. Combining the game changing smartphone integrations like Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Fitness, Apple News, Apple Arcade and iCloud into one single subscription, Apple seeks to make the user experience as simple as possible. Apple One can be tapped from any Apple device choosing from a range of an Individual subscription at Rs. 195 per month to a Family subscription and a Premier subscription at Rs. 365 per month.
Although the 2020 Apple launch did not debut the much-awaited iPhone 12, it is rumoured to come out later this year.
