Sean Wotherspoon and Asics Pair Up With Atmos To Launch A New Collaboration
Sean Wotherspoon's collaboration with Asics is definitely one of the most hyped sneaker releases of the year. After months of teasers and 'friends and family' give-aways, the much awaited sneaker is finally releasing globally.
People familiar with Wotherspoon’s work recognise and appreciate his love for colour which can be seen on all the shoes he has designed, including the Asics GEL-LYTE 3. The addition of Japanese streetwear and sneaker boutique, Atmos to this collaboration raises the bar and signifies a fusion between LA and Tokyo sneaker culture.
The year 2020 celebrates the 30th anniversary of the GEL-LYTE 3 silhouette - which is unarguably one of Asics' best silhouettes - and the collaboration pays tribute to the iconic sneaker with a capsule collection of apparel and accessories as well.
The shoe features colourful corduroy - Wotherspoon’s signature style statement - on the upper in a distinct wale pattern and has different coloured hues on either pieces of the pair.
The left foot features darker, cool tones with a purple toe box, a dark brown heel, and deep navy quarter panels along with a dark green collar.
The right foot, on the other hand, features warmer colours with an orange toe box, light blue quarter panels and yellow and mint green accent heels that are highlighted by the grey tongue and collar.
The sneakers also have a white GEL midsole and multi-colour out soles that are different on both feet.
The tiger stripes can be interchanged and the shoes come with 5 different colour variations - black, yellow, blue, green and red- that add an extra element of customisation.
