Converse Teams Up With Shaniqwa Jarvis for Their Latest Collaboration
The sneaker brand and photographer come together for a special tribute collection.
Converse teamed up with photographer Shaniqwa Jarvis for their latest collaboration with a reimagined Chuck Taylor All-Star CX. The capsule collection includes a pair of the iconic silhouett well as coordinating hoodies.
Jarvis’ collab with the sneaker brand captures emotional portraiture on canvas. Known for combining modern fashion aesthetics with sensitive portraiture, Jarvis' new collab with the brand derive inspiration from a double-exposed image taken on a trip to Mexico, that reminds her of her father.
Essentially a tribute to her father, the pieces of the collection also see the photographer transform the sneakers’ secondary pair of laces, dust bags, and shoe boxes.
Featuring stretch canvas on the upper, the shoes display a multicoloured floral print and crisp white tongue in textured corduroy. The translucent sole and toe guard allow the print to be extended to the bottom of the shoe, exposing the design throughout.
The sole also exposes the CX foam - a pairing of single density PU insole and lightweight phylon midsole.
The all black hoodie features a similar double-exposed floral image on the back making to clean and edgy at the same time.
The collection released on August 13th, with the sneakers retailing for $100 (Rs. 7,485 approx.), and the hoodie at $80 (Rs. 5,988 approx.) - both of which are now sold out. Did you manage to cop a pair?
