Adidas Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of An Iconic Star Wars Film
Star Wars fans are in for a treat as the iconic Stan Smith silhouette gets a Luke Skywalker remix.
Adidas reveals the first look at their newest collaboration celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise's most critically acclaimed film, "The Empire Strikes Back". This is not the first collaboration between the sports brand and the movie franchise, but is definitely the most exciting one yet!
The iconic Stan Smiths have been chosen for this collaboration and the clean, white and blue colourway is inspired by the film’s main protagonist, Luke Skywalker.
The white colour of the upper signifies Luke's Jedi allegiance and the Cloud city - where he first learned about his connection to Darth Vader.
The blue on the shoes, seen on the mid-sole and backtab, is a reference to the colour of Luke's lightsaber. The translucent outsoles of the shoes feature the famous outcry of the protagonist, "NOOOOOO!".
The insoles of the shoes have a still from the movie printed on them along with the Star Wars and Adidas logo. The tongue and heel Adidas logos have been replaced by the Jedi Master and the Rebel Alliance insignia respectively.
The shoes come in a special galaxy printed box that perfectly represents the theme of the film. The most interesting part of the shoes are the dubraes that the wearer can swap.
The shoes are shipped with dubraes of R2d2, Yoda, an X-Wing and a lightsaber.
Release Date: 23rd June, 10 AM EDT, on the Adidas' website.
