A-Cold-Wall and Converse Join Hands To Recreate The Chuck 70 And ERX 260
London based brand A-Cold-Wall is famous for fusing working-class culture with technical finesse. In the newest collaboration with Converse, the brand has joined hands with the sneaker company to work on the iconic Chuck 70 and ERX 260 silhouettes. ACW who has collaborated with sneaker brands such as Nike in the past, unveiled its first sneaker collaboration with Converse at their London Fashion Week SS20 show back in 2019.
The Chuck-70 sees an interesting treatment in this collaboration reiterating it into a rubber boot of sorts. The upper is seared in a durable Ripstop material as opposed to the more traditional canvas.
Two rubber panels sit atop the upper and a wider midsole, revolutionising the design of a typical Chuck 70 portraying the new design in all its glory. The lacing that goes right through to the back of the heel gives the boot a more secure fit and a rugged appearance.
The ERX-260, on the other hand, remains true to its DNA of being a lifestyle shoe. Initially released in the 1980s, the readily apparent features for this collaboration have been toned down on the upper which has alternatively been given a suede treatment with a smooth finish leather.
A new lacing system has been added to the sneaker with an icy blue transparent rubber outer sole and with what appears to be Velcro strap around the ankles.
The ACW x Converse ERX 260 will drop through Shop Nice Kicks
Release Date: September 17th
Price: $160 (Rs. 11,752 approx.)
The ACW x Converse Chuck 70 is also expected to drop in September, however, there is no confirmed date as of now and the pricing is yet to be announced. Given the collab and the various upgrades on the silhouette, a price increase is certainly expected as compared to the base model. Stay tuned to this space for further information.
