Upcoming Travis Scott x McDonald’s Collaboration Is Finally Confirmed

The previously rumoured collaboration between the rapper and fast-food giant finally has a release date. Read on for further details.

Just over a week ago, whispers began to floating around regarding an upcoming collaboration between Grammy nominated rapper Travis Scott and fast-food chain McDonald’s.

From his impossible-to-get Nike sneaker line, to a cereal collaboration with General Mills that sold out in 30 seconds and a record-setting virtual concert series inside Fortnite, Travis Scott is a cultural legend in his own right.

In a recent leaked memo that confirms the circulating rumours, Scott will be the first in a line-up of huge names to partner with the fast-food giant.

“Travis is the first in a suite of big celebrities that resonate across segments and are true fans of our food and our brand. We can’t wait to share more on our partnership with Travis and celebrate the news with our fans early this September.”

Morgan Flatley, US Chief Marketing Executive - McDonalds

Sources revealed that the inaugural partnership could see Travis Scott appear in a national campaign, create a line of Happy Meal toys, receive his own McMeal or design his own menu item.

The 'Travis Scott Meal' which includes the The Travis Scott Mean Sandwich will consist of a quater-pound of fresh beef, 3 half-strips of Applewood smoked bacon, mustard, ketchup, slivered onions, 2 pickles, shredded lettuce, and 2 slices of American cheese.

This partnership will also see a release of a collaborative McDonald's x Cactus Jack line of merchandise and will be sold through the Astroworld stars' online shop.

The collection includes T-Shirts, hoodies, shorts, lunch boxes etc. Fans can look forward to seeing the release of a previously teased shirt with a fries graphic on the front and branding on the side.

Other notable pieces include a 'Tell Em Jack Sent You' tee, co-branded denim shorts and jacket, a nugget body pillow and a burger tie. The full line of merch is available to purchase on the Travis Scott official website.

Following confirmation of this project from the leaked memo, Seoul-based 3D artist ccreatt has imagined how the collaboration’s Happy Meal toy could look.

The artwork features an action figure of the rapper, alongside classic McDonald’s menu items, packaged in a smooth plastic casing with fictitious co-branding.

Stamped with “Traviss Scott” (with an extra “s” to avoid copyyright issues), the figure depicts the rapper with a light blue long-sleeve, paired with a yellow snapback, patent leather pants and yellow high-top sneakers.

The McDonald’s logo is placed at the top right corner of the package, below which the “Traviss Scott” branding and a Cactus Jack doodle appear. Underneath this are four miniature toys — fries in a classic Cactus Jack brown holder, a burgundy-toned drink cup, a black face mask and a signature Big Mac. As a finishing touch, the packaging comes with the artist’s signature at the lower-right corner accompanied by two safety signs and a recycle motif.

The rapper himself recently took to Instagram to reveal some more details regarding the collab including an official release date and some campaign pictures featuring Cactus Jack and McDonald's cobranding as well.

The Travis Scott x McDonald's collection officially released on September 8th.
